What you'll learn

Divide team responsibilities into microtasks

Split broad job responsibilities into granular microtasks so you can see where human skills are most relevant.

Sort decisions and work products into automation categories

The categories are: fully automate, human-led with AI augmentation, and predominantly human

Surface the tacit knowledge that brings value to the company

Use the Critical Decision Method to extract the cues and judgment calls that are typically not written down in workflows

Why this topic matters

Automation decisions are being made from process maps that capture visible steps and miss the judgment behind them. That judgment is where much of your value lives, and it rarely appears in a job description or a training dataset. If you can't name and measure it, someone else will classify it as overhead. This session gives you a practical method to make that work visible and protect the company's internal expertise.

Product team leadership training at Netflix, Google, Meta, Linkedin, Booking.com

The race is on. Teams are stumbling over the vast difference between AI product design/development and previous web site and app collaboration models. I teach PM's, Data Scientists, UX, and ML ENG how to organize a cross-functional AI Pod that aligns deeper and earlier. I also help individuals train to lead AI Pods in your organization.

Since co-founding Experience Strategy Partners in 2002, I have led product-related strategy consulting for marquee clients like The Home Depot, Coca-Cola, SAP, Lowe’s, Delta Air Lines, BNP Paribas, Philips, Cisco, GE, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and IBM.

My product strategy workshops have been hosted internally by Google, Meta, Microsoft, Netflix, LinkedIn, Mozilla, IBM, Booking.com, and more. The focus: help cross-functional teams align on strategy.
